Advantages
Better than just “Broadcasting Seed” Broadcasting seed on the ground is a great way to feed the birds and after watering the remaining seeds all wash away into small pockets producing poor results. By having your lawn hydro seeded, you are insuring nearly 100% seed growth. Each seed is suspended and protected in a mulch mat. You won't have the problem of watching your seeds wash away in streams. Seeds are held securely in place by the mulch fibres, which creates a mini-greenhouse effect, retaining water, and promoting germination. It produces a high quality lawn without a high price tag. Hydroseeding Establishes Faster Than Drill Seeding Press drill seeding forces the seed into the ground and sometimes burries the seed too deep and when the grass does break through the ground the grass comes up in rows and takes a couple growing seasons to establish. Erosion Control Many projects have steep slopes susceptible to run off causing erosion of the soil. In our hydroseeding mix we add Tackafier (an organic glue) binding all materials together holding the seed, fertilizer and mulch to the prepared surface allowing the seed time to take root and establishing its root system.
